This November I’m doing NaBloPoMo. Here’s something I’ve learned about myself as a blogger: Some days I’ve got nothing to say that merits hitting “publish.” I like to lurk and think and draft. So on days where I’m spending my creative juices on re-draft #3 of something that might be worth reading next week, I could post things like, “YOU GUYS! I had quinoa for lunch and it was awesome. Also? I’m too tired to blog today.”
But I think we’d all be happier if things were a little less ancient grain and circadian rhythm centric. Pictures of lunch and random bitching are why God created Instagram and Twitter.
On days where a “proper post” isn’t in the cards I’ll throw out something like an incredibly mundane poem or a snippet of conversation that doesn’t feel like it has another obvious home in the world of social media. My hope is that you’ll feel free to do the same in the comments.
So… do you want to try your hand at any everyday haiku?
